    Description

SUPERB 1/6 PLATE DAGUERREOTYPE - SHE LOOKED OFF CAMERA - MINT THERMOPLASTIC CASE
    -
The silver coated plate contains a woman gazing off camera in a quiet peaceful gaze. What was she thinking as the operator was affixing her likeness to this sixth plate? We will never know, but we are left with nearly 170 years later is an image that has stood the test of time. The lines of the composition are stunningly beautiful and carefully thought out. I happen to love the flow of her outer garment flows in a similar manner as the curves of the shape of the brass mat.
The image rests in a mint thermoplastic case with gorgeous matching royal blue velvet rails and pillow. I wish all my clientele good luck winning this fine cased sixth plate for their collection of 19th Century photography.
    CONDITION
: Please view my detailed photos for the actual condition of the image and as part of my description. I have resealed this sixth plate with P90 and a new sheet of cover glass. The sixth plate image contains excellent contrast, wonderful tonal range and beautiful sharpness. Other than a few minor spots of dust, the image is free of any wipes or other imperfections.
The image resides in a black thermoplastic case which has no imperfections I can find. The case is free of any chips, has tight hinges and the working clasp. As mentioned in my description, the case also contains beautiful matching rails and a pillow with a peacock pressed into the royal blue velvet. Basically a perfect cased image for your collection. I will ship this item carefully packaged by Priority Mail to the winner.
