    Description

    Roots 1/6th Plate Daguerreotype of Elderly Lady-Mid-Later 1840's-Weak Spine. Spine is original but very weak. Maker name and address on red felt pad with eagle. High relief design on front of case. Back of case is blank. Case still opens, closes and latches perfectly, even with the spine being as weak as it is. Woman wears a bonnet and is holding what looks like a white piece of cloth. She also has on what looks like solid black gloves. I have never removed the daguerreotype from the case. I don't know about the seals. Look at pics for condition. There are a few vertical hairline very faint wipes or the faintest of scratches. Otherwise, the plate is clean.
