Antique Union Late 1800s 1/9 Plate Daguerreotype & Case Young Girl Portrait  -  Preowned
This daguerreotype and case are in overall good condition given the age. The photograph has almost no fading, and the shadow zones show nice details still. The glass on top of the photograph has light scuffs. The backside glass has a good amount of finger prints and some scuffing as well. The ornate tin border around the photograph is in good condition on the frontside with some light patina of the metal, whereas on the sides and back of the tin border there are dents and dings (check 8th and 9th photo).
The red velvet interior is in good condition with some light fading mostly around the edges.
The case is in decent condition with normal surface wear, and some dings and broken chips along the edges. The hinges are still together and working, but they are loose and have the potential to come apart if handled to roughly (check 10th photo).
The case does not snap closed.
